What is the life-span of a KyRack®?
As far as we can tell the lifespan of a KyRack® could be a very long time. It is not affected by heat, reasonable cold, termites, bad Karma, or anything else we can think of. Now we have to qualify ‘reasonable cold’. Please understand that your KyRack® is made by people that live and work in Florida – so cold to us is a very relative term. If you live in a sub freezing climate the KyRack® should not have any issues other than the PVC getting a little brittle. Our engineers tell us that if something hard were to hit one of the supports or arms that you could experience some breakage or cracks in the plastic. If the intent is to leave your KyRack ®outside to store boats during the winter and you don’t plan to take them off until the spring – we don’t think you will have any issues with the KyRack® being adversely affected by freezing temperatures.
Can a KyRack® be used for something other than to store boats?
Absolutely! One of the unique features of the KyRack® is its many uses – and not just for storing Kayaks! You could store other small light weight boats like canoes, wake or surfboards, etc. We even have had customers store lumber that has been lying around the yard or cluttering up their garage. They simply stored the wood on the KyRack® and covered it with a tarp or some heavy plastic.
Can a KyRack® be set up on a hard floor like in a garage, carport, or basement?
Yes! You will need to send us an email and request a KyRack® that is manufactured for that purpose..
